2011 Local 623 Veterans Dinner is a Huge Success!
The IAM Local 623 Veterans Dinner was held on January 9, 2011 at the Eagles Club in St. Cloud. In attendance was IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Philip J. Gruber (far left top) who delivered the dinners key note address. GVP Gruber gave a passionate and historical perspective on economic recovery and the power of Union Solidarity. He welcomed our retirees, the awardees, and all in attendance. He appealed for all to become actively involved in their Local and organizing. GVP Gruber was impressed with the tremendous atmosphere of unity, enthusiasm, and celebration, generated by the gathering of committed trade unionists with decades of service. Also attending was Grand Lodge Representative Luther Williams (far right top).
Directing Business Representative James Kiser served as the Master of Ceremony. Business Representative Colleen Murphy-Cooney was in attendance.
Entertainment Chair Jan Lehr coordinated a special night for more than 200 award recipients and guests to honor Local Lodge 623 and their proud tradition of continual membership. Jan and her team of volunteers; Michelle Pixley and Dan Milner along with Newsletter Editor Edith Gerads did a great job to make this event successful. Local Lodge Secretary Treasurer Patricia Bechtold also assisted Lehr in preparation. Chair Lehr stated that “This is the best Awards Dinner that we have every had”. Jan, Congratulations for a job well done!
